    雪城大学信息学院的在全美的排名为第三.在学院官方主页上就像喜报性质的公告,可见US News的大学排名影响力和含金量都很高.前面的北卡和伊利诺伊也在其网站上报道了他们的排名,只是没有syracuse这么"兴奋".对于排名,该院给出了一个排名的链接(PDF).

    武大去雪城大学的还是有一些的,01级信管今年就有去的.

    听说雪城大学气候寒冷,经受不住的人可能会选马里兰大学.

    上学期见识了该院院长Raymond F. von Dran 教授,非常和蔼可爱.他给我们作了一场报告,可惜自己听力太烂,听得不是很懂,但是觉得在全英语的环境下学习是很具有挑战性的,心里还是比较渴望的:)

    补充一点:该院的秦健副教授是武大校友.1982年毕业于武汉大学图书馆信息学院图书馆学专业，1986年获加拿大西安略大学图书馆信息学硕士，1996年获在美国伊利诺大学香槟分校获哲学博士学位。现在美国雪城大学信息学院任副教授，她是美国信息和技术学会(ASIS&T)与专业图书馆协会(SLA)的会员，并担任过ASIS&T奖助项目的评审委员及SLA的编目委员会成员.

    学院的网站上只有Bei Yu & Jun Wang的profiles,他们可是"牛魔王夫妇"啊,呵呵!他们俩都在中科院计算机所读的硕士,Wang jun师兄是从武大出去的,他妻子是科大毕业的.他们俩都是九江人,和咱还是老乡啊!

    学院的学生组织设有GSLIS Chinese Group (中国同学会),可见中国学生的人数还是很可观的,武大的比较多,比较符合马太效应:)
